La Conferencia Europea de Ecoaldeas es un evento anual que organiza GEN Europe (Global Ecovillage Network) y que reúne a unas 500 personas de Europa y otros continentes, representantes de comunidades y personas que trabajan o están interesadas en la vida sostenible, tanto del ámbito rural como urbano, personas investigadoras, de gobiernos y administraciones públicas, ONG, etc.
Como en cada ocasión, la conferencia de este año presentaba un programa repleto de talleres y actividades sobre distintas temáticas en torno a la vida sostenible: gobernanza y vida en comunidad, bioconstrucción, tecnologías sostenibles de bajo impacto, trabajo interior, salud y alimentación, etc.

Altekio lleva participando en esta conferencia desde hace 5 años ya que varias de las personas que forman parte de nuestro equipo están muy vinculadas con algunas ecoaldeas como Findhorn (Escocia) o Damanhur (Italia).
Este año promovimos la creación de un grupo de discusión en torno a la emergencia climática, en el que cada día nos reuníamos para generar una red de colaboración entre personas que participan en activismo ambiental de una manera u otra. Entre las personas presentes había investigadoras, representantes de Extinction Rebellion de varios países, coordinador de Slow Food Italia, representantes de varias ONG y otras personas interesadas.
